while I was asleep,

some sleazy, low-life slut.
in my head and stab me in my heart,
the controlling relationship.
this was happening to me.
cyberharassment or cyberbullying.
a relationship gone bad,
can't handle rejection,
put their hands on you,
cell phones and laptops.
content -- all posted online,
we all live our lives online.
we make new relationships,
one Facebook like at a time.
they have been impacted by revenge porn.
that number looks like one in 10.
in this audience as potential victims.
what's even more alarming?
to adequately protect victims
by Senator Kamala Harris.
have some laws in place for revenge porn.
we're talking $500 fines.
from damaged relationships
and depression.
who spent 11 months in court,
and cyberabuse,
internet company
and jurisdictional issues drag this out
were on display for months.
was exposed for the world to see,
for the content to be removed?
a private company
to shut the website down.
digital material and content.
both copyright owners and consumers.
own the rights to those selfies,
to have the content removed.

isn't the internet international?
some sort of policy in place
regardless to borders or restrictions?
I had to keep fighting.

we need to have clear, tough enforcement;
and responsiveness from online companies;
for posting, sharing and texting;

mislabeled and broken?
that's holding you hostage.

I freed myself from shame.
from the fear of judgment
