So, I kindסוג of believe that we're in like the "cave-paintingציור מערה" eraתְקוּפָה of computerמַחשֵׁב interfacesממשקים.

00:30
Like, they're very kindסוג of -- they don't go as deepעָמוֹק or as emotionallyרגשית engagingמרתק as they possiblyיִתָכֵן could be
1
5000
4000
00:34
and I'd like to changeשינוי all that.
2
9000
2000
00:36
Hitמכה me.
3
11000
3000
00:39
OK. So I mean, this is the kindסוג of statusסטָטוּס quoקוו interfaceמִמְשָׁק, right?
4
14000
3000
00:42
It's very flatשָׁטוּחַ, kindסוג of rigidנוקשה.
5
17000
2000
00:44
And OK, so you could sexמִין it up and like go to a much more lickableליקוי Macמק,
6
19000
4000
Mac
00:48
you know, but really it's the kindסוג of sameאותו oldישן crapשְׁטוּיוֹת we'veיש לנו had for the last,
7
23000
4000
00:52
you know, 30 yearsשנים.
8
27000
2000
00:57
Like I think we really put up with a lot of crapשְׁטוּיוֹת with our computersמחשבים.
10
32000
3000
01:00
I mean it's pointנְקוּדָה and clickנְקִישָׁה, it's like the menusתפריטים, iconsסמלים, it's all the kindסוג of sameאותו thing.
11
35000
5000
01:05
And so one kindסוג of informationמֵידָע spaceמֶרחָב that I take inspirationהַשׁרָאָה from is my realאמיתי deskשׁוּלְחָן כְּתִיבָה.
12
40000
4000
01:09
It's so much more subtleעָדִין, so much more visceralהקרביים
13
44000
4000
01:13
-- you know, what's visibleנִרְאֶה, what's not.
14
48000
2000
01:15
And I'd like to bringלְהָבִיא that experienceניסיון to the desktopשולחן העבודה.
15
50000
3000
01:18
So I kindסוג of have a -- this is BumpTopBumpTop.
16
53000
4000
01:22
It's kindסוג of like a newחָדָשׁ approachגִישָׁה to desktopשולחן העבודה computingמחשוב.
17
57000
3000
01:25
So you can bumpמַכָּה things -- they're all physicallyפיזית, you know, manipulableמניפולציה and stuffדברים.
18
60000
7000
01:32
And insteadבמקום זאת of that pointנְקוּדָה and clickנְקִישָׁה, it's like a pushלִדחוֹף and pullמְשׁוֹך,
19
67000
3000
01:35
things collideלְהִתְנַגֵשׁ as you'dהיית רוצה expectלְצַפּוֹת them. Just like on my realאמיתי deskשׁוּלְחָן כְּתִיבָה,
20
70000
4000
01:39
I can -- let me just grabלִתְפּוֹס these guys -- I can turnלפנות things into pilesטְחוֹרִים
21
74000
3000
01:42
insteadבמקום זאת of just the foldersתיקיות that we have.
22
77000
6000
01:48
And onceפַּעַם things are in a pileעֲרֵמָה I can browseלְדַפדֵף them by throwingזְרִיקָה them into a gridרֶשֶׁת,
23
83000
4000
01:52
or you know, flipלְהַעִיף throughדרך them like a bookסֵפֶר
24
87000
3000
01:55
or I can layלְהַנִיחַ them out like a deckסִיפּוּן of cardsקלפים.
25
90000
5000
02:00
When they're laidמוּנָח out, I can pullמְשׁוֹך things to newחָדָשׁ locationsמיקומים or deleteלִמְחוֹק things
26
95000
5000
02:05
or just quicklyבִּמְהִירוּת sortסוג a wholeכֹּל pileעֲרֵמָה, you know, just immediatelyמיד, right?
27
100000
5000
02:10
And then, it's all smoothlyבצורה חלקה animatedאנימציה, insteadבמקום זאת of these jarringצוֹרֵם changesשינויים you see in today'sשל היום interfacesממשקים.
28
105000
5000
02:15
Alsoגַם, if I want to addלְהוֹסִיף something to a pileעֲרֵמָה, well, how do I do that?
29
110000
2000
02:17
I just tossלִזרוֹק it to the pileעֲרֵמָה, and it's addedהוסיף right to the topחלק עליון. It's a kindסוג of niceנֶחְמָד way.
30
112000
6000
02:23
Alsoגַם some of the stuffדברים we can do is,
31
118000
2000
02:25
for these individualאִישִׁי iconsסמלים we thought -- I mean,
32
120000
2000
02:27
how can we playלְשַׂחֵק with the ideaרַעְיוֹן of an iconסמל, and pushלִדחוֹף that furtherנוסף?
33
122000
3000
02:30
And one of the things I can do is make it bigger
34
125000
3000
02:33
if I want to emphasizeלהדגיש it and make it more importantחָשׁוּב.
35
128000
2000
02:35
But what's really coolמגניב is that sinceמאז there's a physicsפיזיקה simulationסימולציה runningרץ underתַחַת this,
36
130000
4000
02:39
it's actuallyלמעשה heavierכבד יותר. So the lighterקל יותר stuffדברים doesn't really moveמהלך \ לזוז \ לעבור
37
134000
5000
02:44
but if I throwלזרוק it at the lighterקל יותר guys, right?
38
139000
4000
02:48
(Laughter
39
143000
3000
02:51
So it's cuteחָמוּד, but it's alsoגַם like a subtleעָדִין channelעָרוּץ of conveyingהוֹבָלָה informationמֵידָע, right?
40
146000
5000
02:56
This is heavyכָּבֵד so it feelsמרגיש more importantחָשׁוּב. So it's kindסוג of coolמגניב.
41
151000
3000
03:02
because it has a lot of, I think, valuableבעל ערך propertiesנכסים.
43
157000
2000
03:04
And some of those we wanted to transferלְהַעֲבִיר to the iconsסמלים in our systemמערכת.
44
159000
3000
03:07
So one of the things you can do to our iconsסמלים, just like paperעיתון, is creaseקֶמֶט them and foldלְקַפֵּל them,
45
162000
4000
03:11
just like paperעיתון. Rememberלִזכּוֹר, you know, something for laterיותר מאוחר.
46
166000
4000
03:15
Or if you want to be destructiveהַרסָנִי, you can just crumpleלְקַמֵט it up
47
170000
3000
03:18
and, you know, tossלִזרוֹק it to the cornerפינה.
48
173000
3000
03:21
Alsoגַם just like paperעיתון, around our workspaceמרחב עבודה
49
176000
3000
03:24
we'llטוֹב pinפִּין things up to the wallקִיר to rememberלִזכּוֹר them laterיותר מאוחר,
50
179000
2000
03:26
and I can do the sameאותו thing here,
51
181000
3000
03:29
and you know, you'llאתה see post-itפוסט זה notesהערות and things like that around people'sשל אנשים officesמשרדים.
52
184000
3000
03:32
And I can pullמְשׁוֹך them off when I want to work with them.
53
187000
2000
03:34
So, one of the criticismsביקורת of this kindסוג of approachגִישָׁה to organizationאִרגוּן is that,
54
189000
5000
03:39
you know, "Okay, well my realאמיתי deskשׁוּלְחָן כְּתִיבָה is really messyמבולגן. I don't want that messאי סדר on my computerמַחשֵׁב."
55
194000
4000
03:43
So one thing we have for that is like a gridרֶשֶׁת alignישר,
56
198000
3000
03:46
kindסוג of -- so you get that more traditionalמָסוֹרתִי desktopשולחן העבודה. Things are kindסוג of gridרֶשֶׁת alignedמיושר.
57
201000
4000
03:50
More boringמְשַׁעֲמֵם, but you still have that kindסוג of collidingהתנגשות and bumpingהתנגשות.
58
205000
3000
03:53
And you can still do funכֵּיף things like make shelvesמדפים on your desktopשולחן העבודה.
59
208000
7000
04:00
Let's just breakלשבור this shelfמַדָף. Okay, that shelfמַדָף brokeחסר פרוטה.
60
215000
3000
04:03
I think beyondמעבר the iconsסמלים, I think anotherאַחֵר really coolמגניב domainתְחוּם for this softwareתוֹכנָה --
61
218000
5000
04:08
I think it appliesחל to more than just iconsסמלים and your desktopשולחן העבודה -- but browsingדִפדוּף photographsתמונות.
62
223000
6000
04:14
I think you can really enrichלהעשיר the way we browseלְדַפדֵף our photographsתמונות
63
229000
3000
04:17
and bringלְהָבִיא it to that kindסוג of shoeboxקופסת נעליים of, you know, photosתמונות with your familyמִשׁפָּחָה on the kitchenמִטְבָּח tableשולחן kindסוג of thing.
64
232000
5000
04:22
I can tossלִזרוֹק these things around. They're so much more tangibleמוּחָשִׁי and touchableמגע --
65
237000
3000
04:25
and you know I can double-clickלחץ לחיצה כפולה on something to take a look at it.
66
240000
3000
04:28
And I can do all that kindסוג of sameאותו stuffדברים I showedparagraphs you before.
67
243000
2000
04:30
So I can pileעֲרֵמָה things up, I can flipלְהַעִיף throughדרך it, I can, you know --
68
245000
3000
04:33
okay, let's moveמהלך \ לזוז \ לעבור this photoתמונה to the back, let's deleteלִמְחוֹק this guy here,
69
248000
6000
04:39
and I think it's just a much more richעָשִׁיר kindסוג of way of interactingאינטראקציה with your informationמֵידָע.
70
254000
4000
04:43
And that's BumpTopBumpTop. Thanks
71
258000
4000
וזה בעצם BumpTop.
