was in a glass-stained cathedral.
u katedrali s vitražnim staklima.
the congregation was on its feet,
što je sva pastva bila na nogama,
like a question mark
poginjalo poput upitnika
u nadi da će moj greh sagoreti
that my sin would burn
to reintroduce me to sanctity,
na put pobožnosti,
o tome koliko sam čudo,
to be anything I want.
šta god poželim kad porastem.
što je preostalo od mog sna.
what was left of my goal.
the other kids couldn't play,
ne mogu da igraju,
and apologetic girl,
od dečaka čudaka do pomirljive devojke,
wasn't deemed cute anymore.
im se više nije činila simpatičnom.
seeing my knees in the shadow of skirts,
kojima su falila moja kolena u seni suknji
would never bring a husband home,
nikada neću dovesti muža u kuću,
and child-bearing.
i da decu rađam.
along with their slurs.
kao i nipodaštavanja.
come out of the closet.
without my permission.
bez moje dozvole.
more Ken than Barbie.
pre Ken no Barbi.
dovoljno da ga oslobodim,
to house all your insides,
da udomite sve svoje iznutrice,
to invite guests over,
da pozovete goste da svrate,
strong enough to stand on.
da možete stajati na njemu.
myself after fading things.
da sam se nazvao po stvarima koje blede.
left behind by Mya Hall,
koje su za sobom ostavili Maja Hol,
u razgovorima na autobuskim stajalištima.
conversations at the bus stop.
into a mausoleum,
my identity into a spectacle,
moj identitet u spektakl,
while the brutality of living in this body
dok užasi života u ovom telu
at the bottom of equality pages.
na kraju stranice o jednakosti.
my gender expression is a trick,
moje ispoljavanje pola trik,
without their consent,
for their eyes and hands
za njihove oči i ruke
they did not like.
koji im se ne sviđaju.
hang me with all the other skeletons.
obesiće me s drugim kosturima.
to talk people into coffins,
rečima sahraniti ljude,
imena na nadgrobnim pločama.
there are boys rotting,
zašto neki dečaci trunu,
in high school hallways
hashtag in a second
još jedan haštag u trenu,
becoming like judgment day
koje se preokreću u sudnji dan
more transgender children than parents.
transeksualnu decu pre roditelja.
start to feel redundant,
postanu suvišne,
become lessons about sin
prvo postaju lekcije o grehu,
all this breath and mercy,
sav ovaj dah života i milost,
that washed over Jesus' feet.
koje je sapralo Isusova stopala.
getting stuck in my throat.
moje molitve uslišio.
