00:28
we look at humanhumano facescaras everycada day.

01:26

01:39
If we zoomenfocar in on this photographfotografía right here,
31
81000
2000
Si ampliamos esta fotografía justo aquí,
01:41
we can see it's a really nicebonito photographfotografía to have of her,
32
83000
2000
01:43
because she is litiluminado from absolutelyabsolutamente everywhereen todos lados at the samemismo time
33
85000
4000
01:47
to get a nicebonito imageimagen of her facialfacial texturetextura.
34
89000
2000
01:49
And in additionadición, we'venosotros tenemos actuallyactualmente used polarizerspolarizadores on all the lightsluces --
35
91000
3000
01:52
just like polarizedpolarizado sunglassesGafas de sol can blockbloquear
36
94000
2000
01:54
the glaredeslumbramiento off of the roadla carretera,
37
96000
2000
el resplandor del pavimento,
01:56
polarizerspolarizadores can blockbloquear the shinebrillar off of the skinpiel,
38
98000
2000
01:58
so we don't get all those specularde espejo reflectionsreflexiones to take this mapmapa.
39
100000
3000
02:01
Now, if we turngiro the polarizerspolarizadores around just a little bitpoco,
40
103000
2000
02:03
we can actuallyactualmente bringtraer that specularde espejo reflectionreflexión
41
105000
2000
podemos, realmente, devolver esa reflexión especular
02:05
of the skinpiel back in,
42
107000
2000
a la piel,
02:07
and you can see she looksmiradas kindtipo of shinybrillante and oilyaceitoso at this pointpunto.
43
109000
3000
02:10
If you take the differencediferencia betweenEntre these two imagesimágenes here,
44
112000
3000
02:13
you can get an imageimagen litiluminado from the entiretodo sphereesfera of lightligero
45
115000
2000
02:15
of just the shinebrillar off of Emily'sEmily skinpiel.
46
117000
3000
02:18
I don't think any photographfotografía like this had ever been takentomado
47
120000
2000
02:20
before we had donehecho this.
48
122000
2000
antes de que hubiésemos hecho ésta.
02:22
And this is very importantimportante lightligero to capturecapturar,
49
124000
3000
02:25
because this is the lightligero that reflectsrefleja off the first surfacesuperficie of the skinpiel.
50
127000
2000
02:27
It doesn't get underneathdebajo the translucenttranslúcido
51
129000
2000
No alcanza las capas traslúcidas
02:29
layerscapas of the skinpiel and blurdifuminar out.
52
131000
2000
inferiores de la piel y se dispersa.
02:31
And, as a resultresultado, it's a very good cueseñal
53
133000
2000
02:33
to the detaileddetallado shapeforma of the skin-poreporo de la piel structureestructura
54
135000
3000
02:36
and all of the fine wrinklesarrugas that all of us have,
55
138000
2000
02:38
the things that actuallyactualmente make us look like realreal humanshumanos.
56
140000
2000
02:40
So, if we use informationinformación that comesproviene off of this specularde espejo reflectionreflexión,
57
142000
4000
02:44
we can go from a traditionaltradicional facecara scanescanear
58
146000
2000
podemos ir de un tradicional rostro escaneado
02:46
that mightpodría have the grossbruto contourscontornos of the facecara and the basicBASIC shapeforma,
59
148000
4000
02:50
and augmentaumentar it with informationinformación
60
152000
2000
y mejorarlo con la información
02:52
that putspone in all of that skinpiel poreporo structureestructura and fine wrinklesarrugas.
61
154000
3000
02:55
And, even more importantlyen tono rimbombante,
62
157000
2000
Y, aún más importante,
02:57
sinceya que this is a photometricfotométrico processproceso that only takes threeTres secondssegundos to capturecapturar,
63
159000
3000
03:00
we can shootdisparar EmilyEmily
64
162000
2000
podemos fotografiar a Emily
03:02
in just partparte of an afternoontarde,
65
164000
2000
en apenas parte de una tarde,
03:04
in manymuchos differentdiferente facialfacial posesposes and facialfacial expressionsexpresiones.
66
166000
3000
en poses y expresiones faciales muy diversas .
03:07
So, here you can see her movingemocionante her eyesojos around, movingemocionante her mouthboca around.
67
169000
3000
03:10
And these we're actuallyactualmente going to use to createcrear a photo-realfoto real digitaldigital characterpersonaje.
68
172000
3000
03:13
If you take a look at these scansescaneos that we have of EmilyEmily,
69
175000
4000
03:17
you can see that the humanhumano facecara does an enormousenorme amountcantidad of amazingasombroso things
70
179000
3000
03:20
as it goesva into differentdiferente facialfacial expressionsexpresiones.
71
182000
3000
al formar distintas expresiones faciales.
03:23
You can see things. Not only the facecara shapeforma changescambios,
72
185000
3000
03:26
but all sortstipo of differentdiferente skinpiel bucklingpandeo and skinpiel wrinklingarrugar occursocurre.
73
188000
4000
03:30
You can see that the skinpiel poreporo structureestructura changescambios enormouslyenormemente
74
192000
4000
03:34
from stretchedestirado skinpiel poresporos
75

2000
desde los poros estirados,
03:36
to the regularregular skinpiel texturetextura.
76
198000
2000
hasta la textura regular de la piel.
03:38
You can see the furrowssurcos in the browfrente and how the microstructuremicroestructura changescambios there.
77
200000
3000
03:41
You can see musclesmúsculos pullingtracción down at fleshcarne to bringtraer her eyebrowsCejas down.
78
203000
4000

03:48
In additionadición to this kindtipo of high-resolutionalta resolución geometrygeometría,
80
210000
3000
03:51
sinceya que it's all capturedcapturado with camerascámaras, we'venosotros tenemos got a great texturetextura mapmapa to use for the facecara.
81
213000
4000
03:55
And by looking at how the differentdiferente colorcolor channelscanales of the illuminationiluminación,
82
217000
2000
03:57
the redrojo and the greenverde and the blueazul,
83
219000
2000
el rojo, y el verde y el azul,
03:59
diffusedifuso the lightligero differentlydiferentemente,
84
221000
2000
esparcen la luz diferentemente,
04:01
we can come up with a way of shadingsombreado the skinpiel on the computercomputadora.
85
223000
3000
04:04
Then, insteaden lugar of looking like a plasteryeso mannequinmaniquí,
86
226000
3000
04:07
it actuallyactualmente looksmiradas like it's madehecho out of livingvivo humanhumano fleshcarne.
87
229000
3000
04:10
And this is what we used
88
232000
2000
Y esto es lo que hicimos
04:12
to give to the companyempresa ImageImagen MetricsMétrica
89
234000
2000
para entregarlo a la compañía Image Metrics
04:14
to createcrear a riggedamañado, digitaldigital versionversión of EmilyEmily.
90
236000
3000
para crear una versión articulada de Emily.
04:17
We're just seeingviendo the coarse-scaleescala gruesa geometrygeometría here.
91
239000
2000
04:19
But they basicallybásicamente createdcreado a digitaldigital puppetmarioneta of her,
92
241000
3000
04:22
where you can pullHalar on these variousvarios stringsinstrumentos de cuerda,
93
244000
2000
04:24
and it actuallyactualmente movesmovimientos her facecara in waysformas that are
94
246000
2000
04:26
completelycompletamente consistentconsistente with the scansescaneos that we tooktomó.
95
248000
2000
completamente consistentes con las imágenes que tomamos.
04:28
And, in additionadición to the coarse-scaleescala gruesa geometrygeometría,
96
250000
2000
Y, además de la geometría en grueso,
04:30
they alsoademás used all of that detaildetalle
97
252000
2000
también usaron todo aquel detalle
04:32
to createcrear a setconjunto of what are calledllamado "displacementdesplazamiento mapsmapas"
98
254000
3000
04:35
that animateanimar as well.
99
257000
3000
que también dan animación.
04:38
These are the displacementdesplazamiento mapsmapas here.
100
260000
2000
Estos aquí son los mapas de desplazamiento.
04:40
And you can see those differentdiferente wrinklesarrugas actuallyactualmente showespectáculo up as she animatesanima.
101
262000
3000
04:43
So the nextsiguiente processproceso was then to animateanimar her.
102
265000
2000
04:45
We actuallyactualmente used one of her ownpropio performancesactuaciones to provideproporcionar the sourcefuente datadatos.
103
267000
4000
04:49
So, by analyzinganalizando this videovídeo with computercomputadora visionvisión techniquestécnicas,
104
271000
3000
04:52
they were ablepoder to drivemanejar the facialfacial rigaparejo
105
274000
2000
ellos pudieron manejar el dispositivo facial

with the computer-generatedgenerado por computadora performanceactuación.
106
276000
2000
con la ejecución generada en el computador.
04:56
So what you're going to see now, after this,
107
278000
2000
04:58
is a completelycompletamente photo-realfoto real digitaldigital facecara.
108
280000
2000
es un rostro digital completamente fotorrealista.
05:00
We can turngiro the volumevolumen up a little bitpoco if that's availabledisponible.
