Dave Troy: Social maps that reveal a city's intersections — and separations

You see something a little bitbit

38
100423
3186
Vidite da se u San Franciscu događa
nešto malo drugačije.
S jedne strane, imate dijelove s
medijima, politikom i vijestima
01:55
On the one handruka, you do have

02:09
and there's even a groupskupina
that's so distinctizrazit and clearčisto
43

i čak postoji grupa

02:11
that we can identifyidentificirati it

Ipak možete vidjeti

that the tensionstenzije that we'veimamo

52
140620

i to zapravo ovdje imate dokumentirano.
02:34
You can see the LGBTLGBT communityzajednica
53
142849
2020
Možete vidjeti kako se LGBT zajednica
02:36
is not really gettinguzimajući alonguz

54
144869
3296
baš i ne slaže najbolje

To dovodi do ovakvih stvari.

64
166074

i jedna od stvari koja se istaknula
u vezi s ovim gradom
03:00
is that everything'ssve je

65
168881
2122
jest da je sve nekako izmiješano.
03:03
It's a very heterogenousheterogeni cityGrad in a way
that BaltimoreBaltimore or SanSan FranciscoFrancisco is not.
66
171003
4104
To je veoma heterogen grad na način
na koji Baltimore i San Francisco nisu.
03:07
You still have the loberežanj of people involvedumiješan

Tu je predstavljen

03:35
So you have that sameisti kindljubazan of spreadširenje
78
203996
2160
Imate istu vrstu rasprostranjenosti
03:38

79
206156

umjetnosti i glazbe,
03:40
but it's representedzastupljeni
in a very differentdrugačiji way,
80
208871
2161
ali to je sve predstavljeno
na prilično drugačiji način,
03:43
and I think that maybe fitsodgovara
with our understandingrazumijevanje of RioRio
81
211032
3320
i mislim kako se to možda uklapa
s našim viđenjem Rija
03:46
as beingbiće a very multiculturalmultikulturalna,
musicallyglazbeno diversedrugačiji cityGrad.
82
214352
4014
kao vrlo multikulturalnog,
glazbeno raznovrsnog grada.
03:50
So we have all this datapodaci.
83
218366
3618
Imamo sve te podatke.
To je nevjerojatno bogat skup podataka
koji sada imamo o gradovima,
03:53
It's an incrediblynevjerojatno richbogat setset of datapodaci
that we have about citiesgradovi now,
84
221984
3118
03:57
maybe even richerbogatiji than any datapodaci setset
that we'veimamo ever had before.
85
225102
3246
možda čak i bogatiji od bilo kojeg
skupa podataka kojeg smo imali do sada.
04:00
So what can we do with it?
86
228348
1924
Što možemo napraviti s time?
04:02
Well, I think the first thing
that we can try to understandrazumjeti
87
230272
2870
Mislim da prvo možemo pokušati razumijeti
04:05
is that segregationsegregacija is a socialsocijalni constructizgraditi.
88
233142
2338
da je segregacija samo konstrukt društva.
04:07
It's something that we chooseizabrati to do,
and we could chooseizabrati not to do it,
89
235480
3344
To je nešto što biramo raditi,
i možemo izabrati da to ne radimo,
04:10
and if you kindljubazan of think about it,
90
238824
1932
i ako razmislite o tome,
04:12
what we're doing with this datapodaci
is aimings ciljem a spaceprostor telescopeteleskop at a cityGrad
91
240756
3411
s ovim podacima ciljamo
svemirskim teleskopom u grad
04:16
and looking at it as if was
a giantgigantski highvisok schoolškola cafeteriakafeterija,
92
244167
3032
i gledamo na njega poput
ogromne kantine u srednjoj školi,
04:19
and seeingvidim how everybodysvi arrangedraspoređeni
themselvesse in a seatingza sjedenje chartgrafikon.
93
247199
3738
i gledamo u kojem rasporedu svi sjede.
04:22
Well maybe it's time to shaketresti up
the seatingza sjedenje chartgrafikon a little bitbit.
94
250937
3313
Možda je vrijeme da malo promiješamo
taj raspored sjedenja.
04:26
The other thing that we startpočetak to realizeostvariti
95
254250
2540
Druga stvar koju smo počeli shvaćati
04:28
is that raceutrka is a really
poorsiromašan proxyproksiji for diversityraznovrsnost.
96
256790
2638
jest kako je rasa zapravo loša zamjena
za raznovrsnost.
04:31
We'veMoramo got people representedzastupljeni
from all differentdrugačiji typesvrste of racesutrke
97
259428
2937
Imamo ljude iz svih mogućih rasa
04:34
acrosspreko the entirečitav mapkarta here --
98
262365
2326
preko cijele mape -
04:36
only looking at raceutrka
99
264691
2376
gledajući samo na rasu,
ne doprinosimo svom
razvoju raznovrsnosti.
04:39
doesn't really contributedoprinijeti to
our developmentrazvoj of diversityraznovrsnost.
100
267067
2718
04:41
So if we're tryingtežak to use diversityraznovrsnost
101
269785
1739
Tako da, ako pokušavamo koristiti
raznovrsnost
04:43
as a way to tacklepribor some of our
more intractabletvrdoglav problemsproblemi,
102
271524
3081
kao način borbe s nekim
od naših tvrdoglavijih problema,
04:46
we need to startpočetak to think
about diversityraznovrsnost in a newnovi way.
103
274605
3294
moramo početi razmišljati
o raznovrsnosti na drugi način.
04:49
And lastlyposljednje, we have the abilitysposobnost to createstvoriti
104
277899
3527
I konačno, imamo sposobnost stvarati
intervencije kako bismo počeli s
preoblikovanjem svojih gradova na nov način
04:53
interventionsintervencije to startpočetak to reshapepreoblikovati
our citiesgradovi in a newnovi way,
105
281426
3094
04:56
and I believe that if
we have that capabilitysposobnost,
106
284520
2600
i vjerujem da ako imamo tu sposobnost,
04:59
we maysvibanj even bearsnositi some
responsibilityodgovornost to do so.
107
287120
3065
možda čak imamo
i neku odgovornost da to napravimo.
05:02
So what is a cityGrad?
108
290185
1765
Dakle, što je grad?
05:03
I think some mightmoć say that it is
109
291950
2206
Mislim da bi neki rekli
05:06
a geographicalgeografski areapodručje or a collectionkolekcija
of streetsulice and buildingsgrađevine,
110
294156
3160
da je to geografsko područje
ili skup ulica i zgrada,
05:09
but I believe that a cityGrad
is the sumiznos of the relationshipsodnosa
111
297316
2752
ali ja verujem da je grad zbir veza ljudi
05:12
of the people that liveživjeti there,
112
300068
1561
koji u njemu žive,
05:13
and I believe that if we can startpočetak to
documentdokument those relationshipsodnosa in a realstvaran way
113
