40th birthday, he called.

and felt ganged-up on.

I went looking for answers,
of overdue credit card bills
on the day that he died.
his beautiful 10-year-old daughter,
weeks before his high school graduation,
in our family's money-shame cycle,
40 percent of the deaths,
accounting for seven out of 10 suicides.
and self-defeating financial behaviors

here's how I'm defining money shame:
