as a non-voluntary breather of it,

00:48
tear gas has two main

suzavac ima dva glavna,

00:53
One, it can really burn your eyes,
11
41026
3142
Jedan, može da vam skroz sprži oči,
00:56
and two, it can also
help you to open them.

i drugi, može da vam pomogne
da ih otvorite.

Tear gas definitely helped

can be a game-changer in journalism,
16
61226
3181
može biti faktor promene pravila

in the political discourse as well.

That idea started
to dawn on me in early 2011
to dawn on me in early 2011
18
70749
4773
Ta ideja je počela da me opseda
početkom 2011. godine
početkom 2011. godine
01:27
when I was covering
a protest in São Paulo.
a protest in São Paulo.
19
75522
3538
kada sam pokrivao protest u Sao Paulu.
01:31
It was the marijuana march,
20
79060
1988
Bio je to marš marihuane,
01:33
a gathering of people asking
for the legalization of cannabis.
for the legalization of cannabis.
21
81048
3962
okupljanje ljudi koji su tražili
legalizaciju kanabisa.
legalizaciju kanabisa.
01:37
When that group started to move,
22
85010
2465
Kada je ta grupa krenula da se pokreće,
01:39
the riot police came from the back
with rubber bullets, bombs,
with rubber bullets, bombs,
23
87475
4310
policija je došla s leđa
sa gumenim mecima, bombama,
sa gumenim mecima, bombama,
01:43
and then the gas.
24
91785
1759
a onda suzavcem.
01:46
But to make a long story short,
25
94184
2018
Ali da bih skratio dugu priču,
01:48
I had entered that protest
as the editor-in-chief
as the editor-in-chief
26
96202
3889
ušao sam u taj protest kao glavni urednik
01:52
of a well-established printed magazine
where I'd worked for 11 years,
where I'd worked for 11 years,
27
100091
4773
prestižnog štampanog časopisa
gde sam radio oko 11 godina
gde sam radio oko 11 godina
01:56
and thanks to this unsolicited
effects of tear gas,
effects of tear gas,
28
104864
4912
i zahvaljujući nezaustavljivom
efektu suzavca,
efektu suzavca,
02:01
I left it as a journalist that was now
committed to new ways
committed to new ways
29
109776
4933
napustio sam ga kao novinar
koji je sada posvećen novim načinima
koji je sada posvećen novim načinima
02:06
of sharing the raw experience
of what it's like to be there, actually.
of what it's like to be there, actually.
30
114709
5943
deljenja sirovih iskustava onoga
što se tamo zapravo dešava.
što se tamo zapravo dešava.
02:12
So in the following week,
I was back in the streets,
I was back in the streets,
31
120652
3840
U narednoj nedelji,
bio sam nazad na ulicama,
bio sam nazad na ulicama,
02:16
but that time, I wasn't a member
of any media outlet anymore.
of any media outlet anymore.
32
124492
4063
ali u to vreme nisam više bio član
medijskog odeljenja.
medijskog odeljenja.
02:20
I was there as an independent
livestreamer, and all I had with me
livestreamer, and all I had with me
33
128555
4621
Bio sam tamo kao nezavisni izveštač,
i sve što sam imao sa sobom
i sve što sam imao sa sobom
02:25
was basically borrowed equipment.
34
133176
2136
je bila pozajmljena oprema.
02:27
I had a very simple camera
and a backpack with 3G modems.
and a backpack with 3G modems.
35
135312
6054
Imao sam veoma jednostavnu kameru
i ranac sa 3G modemima.
i ranac sa 3G modemima.
02:33
And I had this weblink
that could be shared through social media,
that could be shared through social media,
36
141366
5625
Imao sam ovaj internet link koji je mogao
da se deli putem socijalnih mreža
da se deli putem socijalnih mreža
02:38
could be put in any website,
37
146991
2877
koji bi mogao biti stavljen
na bilo koji internet sajt
na bilo koji internet sajt
02:41
and that time,
the protest went along fine.
the protest went along fine.
38
149868
3029
i tada je protest tekao dobro.
02:44
There was no violence.
39
152897
1849
Nije bilo nasilja.
02:46
There was no action scenes.
40
154746
2089
Nije bilo scena akcije.
02:48
But there was something really exciting,
41
156835
2439
Ali je bilo nečega veoma uzbudljivog,
02:51
because I could see at a distance
the TV channels covering it,
the TV channels covering it,
42
159274
4850
jer sam mogao da vidim iz daljine
da ga pokrivaju TV stanice
da ga pokrivaju TV stanice
02:56
and they had these big vans
and the teams and the cameras,
and the teams and the cameras,
43
164124
4024
i imali su ove velike kamione,
timove i kamere,
timove i kamere,
03:00
and I was basically doing the same thing
44
168148
2479
i zapravo sam radio istu stvar,
03:02
and all I had was a backpack.
45
170627
2776
a sve što sam imao je ranac.
03:05
And that was really
exciting to a journalist,
exciting to a journalist,
46
173403
3275
To je zaista bilo uzbudljivo za novinara,
03:08
but the most interesting part
was when I got back home, actually,
was when I got back home, actually,
47
176678
4381
ali najinteresantniji deo je bio
kada sam se vratio kući,
kada sam se vratio kući,
03:13
because I learned that I had been watched
48
181059
2827
jer sam shvatio da me je posmatralo
03:15
by more than 90,000 people,
49
183886
3104
više od 90 000 ljudi,
03:18
and I got hundreds of emails and messages
of people asking me, basically,
of people asking me, basically,
50
186990
4905
i primio sam stotine imejlova i poruka
ljudi koji su me pitali,
ljudi koji su me pitali,
03:23
how did I do it,
51
191895
1400
kako sam zapravo to izveo,
03:25
how it was possible to do such a thing.
52
193295
3316
kako je bilo moguće uraditi takvu stvar.
03:28
And I learned something else,
that that was actually the first time
that that was actually the first time
53
196611
3273
I shvatio sam nešto drugo,
da je to zapravo bio prvi put
da je to zapravo bio prvi put
03:31
that somebody had ever done
a livestreaming in a street protest
a livestreaming in a street protest
54
199884
5138
da je neko ikada uradio
prenos uličnog protesta uživo
prenos uličnog protesta uživo
03:37
in the country.
55
205022
1574
u zemlji.
03:39
And that really shocked me,
56
207216
2542
To me je stvarno šokiralo,
03:41
because I was no geek,
I was no technology guy,
I was no technology guy,
57
209758
3778
jer nisam bio štreber,
nisam bio tehnološki tip,
nisam bio tehnološki tip,
03:45
and all the equipment needed
was already there,
was already there,
58
213536
2759
a sva neophodna oprema je već bila tu,
03:48
was easily available.
59
216295
2206
i bila je lako dostupna.
03:50
And I realized that
we had a frontier here,
we had a frontier here,
60
218501
3116
I shvatio sam da smo ovde imali granicu,
03:53
a very important one,
61
221617
1463
veoma važnu,
03:55
that it was just a matter
of changing the perspective,
of changing the perspective,
62
223080
3157
da je bilo samo pitanje
promene perspektive,
promene perspektive,
03:58
and the web could be actually used,
63
226237
2229
a mreža bi mogla biti iskorišćena,
04:00
already used, as a colossal
and uncontrollable
and uncontrollable
64
228466
3442
zapravo korišćena kao ogromna
i nekontrolisana
i nekontrolisana
04:03
and highly anarchical TV channel,
TV network,
TV network,
65
231908
3813
i veoma anarhična TV stanica, TV mreža,
04:07
and anyone with very basic skills
and very basic equipment,
and very basic equipment,
66
235721
5184
i svako sa najosnovnijim veštinama
i najosnovnijom opremom,
i najosnovnijom opremom,
04:12
even someone like me who had this
little stuttering issue,
little stuttering issue,
67
240905
5843
čak i neko poput mene
ko je imao problem s mucanjem,
ko je imao problem s mucanjem,
04:18
so if it happens, bear with me please,
68
246748
4125
pa ako se dogodi, izdržite molim vas,
04:22
even someone like me
could become a broadcaster.
could become a broadcaster.
69
250873
4519
čak i neko poput mene
mogao bi da postane reporter.
mogao bi da postane reporter.
04:27
And that sounded revolutionary in my mind.
70
255392
2192
I to je zvučalo revolucionarno
u mojoj glavi.
u mojoj glavi.
04:29
So for the next couple of years,
71
257584
1578
U narednih par godina,
04:31
I started to experiment with
livestreaming in different ways,
livestreaming in different ways,
72
259162
4047
počeo sam da eksperimentišem
sa prenosom uživo na različite načine,
sa prenosom uživo na različite načine,
04:35
not only in the streets
but mostly in studios and in homes,
but mostly in studios and in homes,
73
263209
3606
ne samo na ulicama
već i u studijima i kućama,
već i u studijima i kućama,
04:38
until the beginning of 2013, last year,
74
266815
3308
do početka prošle, 2013. godine,
04:42
when I became the cofounder of a group
called Mídia NINJA.
called Mídia NINJA.
75
270123
4180
kada sam postao suosnivač grupe
po imenu Midia NINJA.
po imenu Midia NINJA.
04:46
NINJA is an acronym
76
274303
1449
NINJA je akronim
04:47
that stands for Narrativas Independentes
Jornalismo e Ação,
Jornalismo e Ação,
77
275752
3830
za "Narrativas Independentes
Jornalismo e Ação",
Jornalismo e Ação",
04:51
or in English, independent narratives,
journalism, and action.
journalism, and action.
78
279582
3911
ili na srpskom,
"nezavisno pričanje, novinarsvo i akcija."
"nezavisno pričanje, novinarsvo i akcija."
04:55
It was a media group
that had little media plan.
that had little media plan.
79
283493
3922
Bila je to medijska grupa
koja je imala mali medijski plan.
koja je imala mali medijski plan.
04:59
We didn't have any financial structure.
80
287415
2049
Nismo imali nikakvu finansijsku strukturu.
05:01
We were not planning
to make money out of this,
to make money out of this,
81
289464
3180
Nismo planirali da zaradimo od ovoga,
05:04
which was wise, because you shouldn't
try to make money out of journalism now.
try to make money out of journalism now.
82
292644
4610
što je bilo pametno, jer sada ne treba
da pravite pare od novinarstva.
da pravite pare od novinarstva.
05:10
But we had a very solid
and clear conviction,
and clear conviction,
83
298484
2704
Ipak smo imali veoma čisto
i jasno uverenje,
i jasno uverenje,
05:13
that we knew that the hyperconnected
environment of social media
environment of social media
84
301188
4954
znali smo da bi hiperpovezano
okruženje društvenih mreža
okruženje društvenih mreža
05:18
could maybe allow us to consolidate
85
306142
2631
možda moglo da nam omogući da učvrstimo
05:20
a network of experimental journalists
throughout the country.
throughout the country.
86
308773
5344
mrežu eksperimentalnog novinarstva
širom žemlje.
širom žemlje.
05:26
So we launched a Facebook page first,
and then a manifesto,
and then a manifesto,
87
314117
5137
Stoga smo prvo pokrenuli
Fejsbuk stranicu, a onda i proglas,
Fejsbuk stranicu, a onda i proglas,
05:31
and started to cover the streets
in a very simple way.
in a very simple way.
88
319254
3738
i počeli smo da pokrivamo ulice
na jako jednostavan način.
na jako jednostavan način.
05:34
But then something happened,
something that wasn't predicted,
something that wasn't predicted,
89
322992
4318
Ali se onda nešto dogodilo,
nešto neočekivano,
nešto neočekivano,
05:39
that no one could have anticipated.
90
327310
2507
nešto što niko nije mogao da nasluti.
05:41
Street protests started
to erupt in São Paulo.
to erupt in São Paulo.
91
329817
2920
Ulični protesti su počeli
da izbijaju u Sao Paulu.
da izbijaju u Sao Paulu.
05:44
They began as very local and specific.
92
332737
2180
Počeli su kao izrazito lokalni
i specifični.
i specifični.
05:46
They were against the bus fare hike
that had just happened in the city.
that had just happened in the city.
93
334917
5310
Bili su protiv naplate vožnje autobusom
koja je upravo počela u gradu.
koja je upravo počela u gradu.
05:52
This is a bus.
94
340227
1911
Ovo je autobus.
05:54
It's written there, "Theft."
95
342138
2964
Ovde piše: "Krađa."
05:57
But those kind of manifestations
started to grow,
started to grow,
96
345102
5059
Ali te vrste manifestacija
su počele da rastu,
su počele da rastu,
06:02
and they kept happening.
97
350161
1835
i nastavile su da se održavaju.
06:03
So the police violence against them
started to grow as well.
started to grow as well.
98
351996
4807
Policijsko nasilje protiv njih
je počelo takođe da raste.
je počelo takođe da raste.
06:08
But there was another conflict,
99
356803
1709
Tu je bio i drugi konflikt,
06:10
the one I believe that's
more important here
more important here
100
358512
2504
onaj koji ovde smatram važnijim
06:13
to make my point that
it was a narrative conflict.
it was a narrative conflict.
101
361016
3960
za isticanje onoga što je bio
pripovedački konflikt.
pripovedački konflikt.
06:16
There was this mainstream media
version of the facts
version of the facts
102
364976
3030
Postojale su činjenice
koje su plasirali mejnstrim mediji,
koje su plasirali mejnstrim mediji,
06:20
that anyone who was on the streets
could easily challenge
could easily challenge
103
368006
4286
koje je svako ko je bio na ulicama
mogao lako da izazove
mogao lako da izazove
06:24
if they presented their own vision
of what was actually happening there.
of what was actually happening there.
104
372292
6269
ako bi predstavio svoju sopstvenu viziju
onoga što se zapravo ovde dešavalo.
onoga što se zapravo ovde dešavalo.
06:30
And it was this clash of visions,
this clash of narratives,
this clash of narratives,
105
378561
3080
I postojao je sukob vizija,
ovaj sukob pripovedanja,
ovaj sukob pripovedanja,
06:33
that I think turned those protests
106
381641
3342
koji smatram da je pretvorio te proteste
06:36
into a long period in the country
of political reckoning
of political reckoning
107
384983
3841
u dug period političkog
obračunavanja u zemlji
obračunavanja u zemlji
06:40
where hundreds of thousands of people,
108
388824
3508
gde su stotine hiljada ljudi,
06:44
probably more than a million people
109
392332
1818
verovatno više od milion ljudi,
06:46
took to the streets in the whole country.
110
394150
2358
izašle na ulice širom zemlje.
06:49
But it wasn't about
the bus fare hike anymore.
the bus fare hike anymore.
111

Ali nije se više radilo o naplati
vožnje autobusom.
vožnje autobusom.
06:52
It was about everything.
112
400252
3544
Radilo se o svačemu.
06:55
The people's demands, their expectations,
113
403796
2450
Zahtevi ljudi, njihova očekivanja,
06:58
the reasons why they were on the streets
114
406246
2150
razlozi zašto su bili na ulicama
bi mogli da budu
bi mogli da budu
07:00
could be as diverse as they could
be contradictory in many cases.
be contradictory in many cases.
115
408396
4839
različiti kao i što su mogli da budu
kontradiktorni u mnogim slučajevima.
kontradiktorni u mnogim slučajevima.
07:05
If you could read it,
you would understand me.
you would understand me.
116
413235
4108
Kada biste mogli da ovo da pročitate,
razumeli biste me.
razumeli biste me.
07:09
But it was in this environment
of political catharsis
of political catharsis
117
417343
4395
Ovo okruženje političke katarze
07:13
that the country was going through
118
421738
2949
kroz koju je zemlja prolazila
07:16
that it had to do with politics, indeed,
119
424687
3297
moralo je da bude
povezano sa politikom,
povezano sa politikom,
07:19
but it had to do also
with a new way of organizing,
with a new way of organizing,
120
427984
4033
ali takođe i sa novim načinima
organizovanja,
organizovanja,
07:24
through a new way of communicating.
121
432017
2933
kroz novi način komunikacije.
07:26
It was in that environment
that Mídia NINJA emerged
that Mídia NINJA emerged
122
434950
2802
U tom okruženju se Midia NINJA izdigao
07:29
from almost anonymity
to become a national phenomenon,
to become a national phenomenon,
123
437752
4683
skoro od anonimnosti
da bi postao nacionalni fenomen,
da bi postao nacionalni fenomen,
07:34
because we did have the right equipment.
124
442435
2853
jer smo imali pravu opremu.
07:37
We are not using big cameras.
125
445288
2200
Ne koristimo velike kamere.
07:39
We are using basically this.
126
447488
2624
Zapravo koristimo ovo.
07:42
We are using smartphones.
127
450112
1999
Koristimo pametne telefone.
07:44
And that, actually, allowed us to become
invisible in the middle of the protests,
invisible in the middle of the protests,
128
452111
4908
I ovo nam je u stvari omogućilo
da postanemo nevidljivi u sred protesta,
da postanemo nevidljivi u sred protesta,
07:49
but it allowed us to do something else:
129
457019
2682
ali nam je omogućilo
i da uradimo nešto drugo:
i da uradimo nešto drugo:
07:51
to show what it was like
to be in the protests,
to be in the protests,
130
459701
3824
da pokažemo kako izgleda biti u protestu,
07:55
to present to people at home
a subjective perspective.
a subjective perspective.
131
463525
5754
da bismo predstavili ljudima
kod kuće subjektivnu perspektivu.
kod kuće subjektivnu perspektivu.
08:01
But there was something
that is more important,
that is more important,
132
469279
2336
Ali tu je bilo nešto što je važnije,
08:03
I think, than the equipment.
133
471615
1356
mislim čak više i od opreme.
08:04
It was our mindset,
134
472971
2728
To je bio način ramišljanja,
08:07
because we are not behaving
as a media outlet.
as a media outlet.
135
475699
3171
jer se ne ponašamo kao javno glasilo.
08:10
We are not competing for news.
136
478870
1938
Ne takmičimo se za vesti.
08:12
We are trying to encourage people,
137
480808
2321
Pokušavamo da ohrabrimo ljude,
08:15
to invite people,
and to actually teach people
and to actually teach people
138
483129
2856
da ih pozovemo i da ih zapravo naučimo
08:17
how to do this, how they also
could become broadcasters.
could become broadcasters.
139
485985
4210
kako da koriste ovo i kako oni
mogu da postanu reporteri.
mogu da postanu reporteri.
08:22
And that was crucial to turn Mídia NINJA
from a small group of people,
from a small group of people,
140
490195
6070
Ovo je bio prelomni preokret
Midia Ninja-e od male grupe ljudi,
Midia Ninja-e od male grupe ljudi,
08:28
and in a matter of weeks,
141
496265
1650
i tokom nekoliko nedelja, porasli smo
08:29
we multiplied and we grew
exponentially throughout the country.
exponentially throughout the country.
142
497915
4577
nekoliko puta i eksponencijalno
se proširili širom zemlje.
se proširili širom zemlje.
08:34
So in a matter of a week or two,
as the protests kept happening,
as the protests kept happening,
143
502492
4677
U roku od nedelje ili dve, kako su
protesti nastavili da se održavaju,
protesti nastavili da se održavaju,
08:39
we were hundreds of young people
144
507169
2212
bilo je stotine mladih ljudi
08:41
connected in this network
throughout the country.
throughout the country.
145
509381
2805
povezanih na ovoj mreži širom zemlje.
08:44
We were covering more than
50 cities at the same time.
50 cities at the same time.
146
512186
3140
Pokrivali smo više od 50 gradova
u isto vreme.
u isto vreme.
08:47
That's something that
no TV channel could ever do.
no TV channel could ever do.
147
515326
3654
To je nešto što nijedna TV stanica
ne bi mogla ikada da uradi.
ne bi mogla ikada da uradi.
08:50
That was responsible
for turning us suddenly, actually,
for turning us suddenly, actually,
148
518980
3413
Ovo je bilo presudno
da nas iznenada preobrati,
da nas iznenada preobrati,
08:54
into kind of the mainstream
media of social media.
media of social media.
149
522393
4926
u neku vrstu mejnstrim medija
društvenih mreža.
društvenih mreža.
08:59
So we had a couple of thousands
of followers on our Facebook page,
of followers on our Facebook page,
150
527319
4051
Imali smo par hiljada pratilaca
na svojoj Fejsbuk stranici,
na svojoj Fejsbuk stranici,
09:03
and soon we had a quarter
of a million followers.
of a million followers.
151
531370
3236
i uskoro smo imali
četvrtinu miliona pratilaca.
četvrtinu miliona pratilaca.
09:06
Our posts and our videos
152
534606
1684
Naše objave i video klipovi
09:08
were being seen by more than
11 million timelines a week.
11 million timelines a week.
153
536290
3979
su bili viđeni više od
11 miliona puta u nedelji.
11 miliona puta u nedelji.
09:12
It was way more than any newspaper
or any magazine could ever do.
or any magazine could ever do.
154
540269
5721
Bilo je mnogo više nego što bi neke
novine ili časopis uspeli da urade.
novine ili časopis uspeli da urade.
09:17
And that turned Mídia NINJA
into something else,
into something else,
155
545990
3244
I to je pretvorilo Media Ninja-u
u nešto drugo,
u nešto drugo,
09:21
more than a media outlet,
than a media project.
than a media project.
156
549234
3441
više od javnog glasila,
više od medijskog projekta.
više od medijskog projekta.
09:24
It became almost like a public service
157
552675
2759
Postalo je skoro kao javni servis
09:27
to the citizen, to the protester,
158
555434
2527
građana, protestanata,
09:29
to the activist,
159
557961
1734
aktivista,
09:31
because they had a very simple
and efficient and peaceful tool
and efficient and peaceful tool
160
559695
3428
jer su imali veoma jedostavan,
efikasan i miran alat
efikasan i miran alat
09:35
to confront both police
and media authority.
and media authority.
161
563123
4891
za sukob sa policijskim
i medijskim autoritetom.
i medijskim autoritetom.
09:41
Many of our images started
to be used in regular TV channels.
to be used in regular TV channels.
162
569644
3991
Mnoge od naših slika su počele
da se koriste na glavnim TV stanicama.
da se koriste na glavnim TV stanicama.
09:45
Our livestreams started to be broadcast
even in regular televisions
even in regular televisions
163
573643
4831
Naši prenosi uživo su počeli da se emituju
09:50
when things got really rough.
164
578474
1949
kada su stvari postale veoma ozbiljne.
09:52
Some our images were responsible
to take some people out of jail,
to take some people out of jail,
165
580433
5297
Zbog nekih od naših slika
ljudi su izašli iz zatvora,
ljudi su izašli iz zatvora,
09:57
people who were being arrested unfairly
166
585730
2839
ljudi koji su bili neprevedno zatočeni
10:00
under false accusations,
and we could prove them innocent.
and we could prove them innocent.
167
588569
3769
zbog lažnih optužbi, a mi smo mogli
da dokažemo da su nevini.
da dokažemo da su nevini.
10:04
And that also turned Mídia NINJA very soon
168
592338
3241
To je uskoro preokrenulo
sliku Medija NINJA-e
sliku Medija NINJA-e
10:07
to be seen as almost
an enemy of cops, unfortunately,
an enemy of cops, unfortunately,
169
595579
4011
da bude posmatrana
kao policijski neprijatelj, nažalost,
kao policijski neprijatelj, nažalost,
10:11
and we started to be severely beaten,
and eventually arrested on the streets.
and eventually arrested on the streets.
170
599590
5073
a nas su na ulici bezočno tukli
i na kraju i hapsili.
i na kraju i hapsili.
10:16
It happened in many cases.
171
604663
1914
Dešavalo se u mnogim slučajevima.
10:18
But that was also useful,
because we were still at the web,
because we were still at the web,
172
606577
4332
Ali je to takođe bilo korisno,
jer smo i dalje bili na mreži,
jer smo i dalje bili na mreži,
10:22
so that helped to trigger
an important debate in the country
an important debate in the country
173
610909
5185
te je to pomoglo da podstaknemo
važnu debatu u zemlji
važnu debatu u zemlji
10:28
on the role of the media itself
174
616094
2449
o ulozi samih medija
10:30
and the state of the freedom
of the press in the country.
of the press in the country.
175
618543
3599
i o stanju slobode štampe u zemlji.
10:34
So Mídia NINJA now evolved
176
622142
1951
Tako se Midia NINJA razvio
10:36
and finally consolidated itself
in what we hoped it would become:
in what we hoped it would become:
177
624093
6050
i konačno učvrstio u ono
što smo se nadali da će postati:
što smo se nadali da će postati:
10:42
a national network
of hundreds of young people,
of hundreds of young people,
178
630143
3284
nacionalna mreža stotina mladih ljudi,
10:45
self-organizing themselves locally
179
633427
3877
lokalno samoorganizovanih
10:49
to cover social, human rights issues,
180
637304
3761
da pokriju socijalne probleme
i probleme ljudskih prava,
i probleme ljudskih prava,
10:53
and expressing themselves
not only politically
not only politically
181
641065
2768
i izražavaju se ne samo politički
10:55
but journalistically.
182
643833
2902
već i novinarski.
11:00
What I started to do
in the beginning of this year,
in the beginning of this year,
183
648665
4335
Početkom ove godine,
11:05
as Mídia NINJA is already
a self-organizing network,
a self-organizing network,
184
653000
4156
pošto je Midia NINJA uveliko
samoorganizujuća mreža,
samoorganizujuća mreža,
11:09
I'm dedicating myself to another project.
185
657156
3433
počeo sam da se posvećujem
drugom projektu.
drugom projektu.
11:12
It's called Fluxo,
which is Portuguese for "stream."
which is Portuguese for "stream."
186
660589
3246
Zove se Flukso, što na portugalskom
znači "prenos".
znači "prenos".
11:15
It's a journalism studio
in São Paulo downtown,
in São Paulo downtown,
187
663835
2807
To je novinarski studio
u centru Sao Paula,
u centru Sao Paula,
11:18
where I used livestream to experiment
188
666642
3327
gde sam prenosio uživo
kako bih eksperimentisao
kako bih eksperimentisao
11:21
with what I call post-television formats.
189
669969
3505
sa onim što nazivam
posttelevizijskim formatima.
posttelevizijskim formatima.
11:25
But I'm also trying to come up with ways
to finance independent journalism
to finance independent journalism
190
673474
5378
Ali takođe pokušavam da smislim načine
za finansiranje nezavisnog novinarstva
za finansiranje nezavisnog novinarstva
11:30
through a direct relationship
with an audience,
with an audience,
191
678852
2812
kroz direktnu vezu sa publikom,
11:33
with an active audience,
192
681664
1962
sa aktivnom publikom,
11:35
because now I really want
to try to make a living
to try to make a living
193
683626
2670
jer sada zaista želim
da pokušam da se izdržavam
da pokušam da se izdržavam
11:38
out of my tear gas resolution back then.
194
686296
3762
od svoje tadašnje odluke
vezane za suzavac.
vezane za suzavac.
11:42
But there's something
more significant here,
more significant here,
195
690058
2290
Ali ovde postoji nešto značajnije,
11:44
something that I believe is more important
and more crucial than my personal example.
and more crucial than my personal example.
196
692348
5446
nešto što verujem da je važnije
i presudnije od mog ličnog primera.
i presudnije od mog ličnog primera.
11:49
I said that livestream could turn the web
into a colossal TV network,
into a colossal TV network,
197
697794
4835
Rekao sam da bi prenos uživo mogao
da pretvori mrežu u ogromnu TV mrežu,
da pretvori mrežu u ogromnu TV mrežu,
11:54
but I believe it does something else,
198
702629
2037
ali verujem da on radi nešto drugo,
11:56
because after watching people using it,
199
704666
2961
jer nakon posmatranja ljudi
kako je koriste
kako je koriste
11:59
not only to cover things but to express,
to organize themselves politically,
to organize themselves politically,
200
707627
6024
ne samo da bi pokrili stvari,
već da izraze, da se politički organizuju,
već da izraze, da se politički organizuju,
12:05
I believe livestream can turn cyberspace
into a global political arena
into a global political arena
201
713651
6754
verujem da prenos uživo može da pretvori
sajberprostor u globalnu političku arenu
sajberprostor u globalnu političku arenu
12:12
where everyone might have a voice,
202
720419
2384
gde bi svako mogao da ima glas,
12:14
a proper voice,
203
722803
1544
pravi glas,
12:16
because livestream takes the monopoly
of the broadcast political discourse,
of the broadcast political discourse,
204
724347
5485
jer prenos uživo preuzima monopol
emitovanja političkog diskursa,
emitovanja političkog diskursa,
12:21
of the verbal aspect
of the political dialogue
of the political dialogue
205
729832
2753
verbalnog aspekta političkog dijaloga
12:24
out of the mouths of just politicians
and political pundits alone,
and political pundits alone,
206
732585
5609
van dometa političara
i političkih učenika,
i političkih učenika,
12:30
and it empowers the citizen
through this direct and non-mediated power
through this direct and non-mediated power
207
738194
5470
i osnažuje građanina kroz ovu
direktnu i neposrednu snagu
direktnu i neposrednu snagu
12:35
of exchanging experiences and dialogue,
208
743664
2983
razmene iskustava i dijaloga,
12:38
empowers them to question
and to influence authorities
and to influence authorities
209
746647
4050
osnažuje ih da preispituju
i utiču na vlasti
i utiču na vlasti
12:42
in ways in which we are about to see.
210
750697
3529
na načine koje ćemo tek videti.
12:46
And I believe it does something else
that might be even more important,
that might be even more important,
211
754226
4554
Verujem da to čini nešto drugo
što bi moglo biti čak i važnije
što bi moglo biti čak i važnije
12:50
that the simplicity of the technology
can merge objectivity and subjectivity
can merge objectivity and subjectivity
212
758780
6690
da jednostavnost tehnologije može
da sjedini objektivnost i subjektivnost
da sjedini objektivnost i subjektivnost
12:57
in a very political way, as I see it,
213
765470
2663
na politički način, kao što ga ja vidim,
13:00
because it really helps the audience,
214
768133
5169
jer veoma pomaže publici,
13:05
the citizen, to see the world
through somebody else's eye,
through somebody else's eye,
215
773302
4494
građaninu da vidi svet kroz tuđe oči,
13:09
so it helps the citizen
to put him- or herself
to put him- or herself
216
777796
3434
te mu pomaže da se postavi
13:13
in other people's place.
217
781230
2672
na tuđe mesto.
13:15
And that idea, I think,
should be the intention,
should be the intention,
218
783902
3268
Mislim da ova ideja treba da bude namera,
13:19
should be the goal of any good journalism,
any good activism,
any good activism,
219
787170
4715
cilj svakog dobrog novinarstva,
svakog dobrog aktivizma,
svakog dobrog aktivizma,
13:23
but most of all, any good politics.
220
791885
2652
ali pre svega, svake dobre politike.
13:26
Thank you very much. It was an honor.
221
794537
2528
Hvala vam mnogo. Bila mi je čast.

ABOUT THE SPEAKER
Bruno Torturra - Livestreaming activistJournalist and photographer Bruno Torturra is the face of Media Ninja, a Brazilian digital collective making headlines for its ability to cover big news as it happens.
Why you should listen
After 11 years as a correspondent and chief editor for Trip Magazine (“Dedicated to the exploration of psychedelic and visionary drug subculture”), São Paolo writer and photographer Bruno Torturra founded two experimental livestreaming networks: first PosTV, then Media Ninja. The latter drew global attention for its collective coverage of the 2013 protests in Brazil, and the questions it raises about the role of traditional journalism and the power of livestreaming technology.
