mientras me operaban,

and the surgeoncirujano tooktomó out about a thirdtercero of my intestinesintestinos,

07:16
and he laterluego told me one of the last things he did
139
420784
2371
después me dijo que una de
las últimas cosas que hizo
07:19
while he was in there was to removeretirar my appendixapéndice for me,
140
423155
3345
mientras estaba ahí fue quitarme mi apéndice,
07:22
whichcual I thought was great, you know,

lo que me pareció bien, bueno,
07:24
just a little tidyordenado thing there at the endfin. (LaughterRisa)
142
428723
3163
(Risas)
07:27
And I camevino to in the morningMañana.

4318
Desperté en la mañana.
07:32
Out of anestheticanestésico, he had let them know
144

07:33
that he wanted to be there, and he had givendado me
145
438020
3488
07:37
about a two percentpor ciento chanceoportunidad of livingvivo.
146
441508
3195
07:40
So he was there when I wokedespertó up,
147
444703
1912
Así que, él estuvo ahí cuando desperté,
07:42
and it was, wakingdespertar up was like
148
446615
2161
y fue...despertar fue como
07:44
breakingrotura throughmediante the icehielo into a frozencongelado lakelago of paindolor.
149
448776
6217
abrirme paso, a través del hielo
en un lago de dolor, congelado.
07:50
It was that envelopingenvolvente,
150

and there was only one spotlugar that didn't hurtherir

07:57
worsepeor than anything I'd ever feltsintió,
152
461268
1473
07:58
and it was my instepempeine,
153
462741

y era mi empeine,
08:00
and he was holdingparticipación the archarco of my footpie

y estaba masajeándolo con su pulgar.
08:07
And I lookedmirado up, and he's like,

Lo miré y me dijo,
08:10

08:15
and tryingmolesto to get my headcabeza around everything,
159
479754

intentaba poner las cosas en mi cabeza
08:17
and the paindolor was just overwhelmingabrumador, and he said,
160
481472
4057
08:21
"You know, we didn't cutcortar your haircabello. I thought

and you're going to need all the strengthfuerza you can get."
163

y, ah -- risas --
09:13
on that day, the surgeoncirujano camevino in

ese día, el médico vino y
09:16
and whippedazotado the sheethoja off of me.

187
560319
3191
(Risas)
09:39
And it was just,
188
563510
3024
Y eso simplemente,
09:42
it was amazingasombroso, because these guys are high-fivingalto-fiving him
189
566534
3136

193
576487
2215
Y
09:54
laterluego on, when I got out

10:07
I wentfuimos back to him
197
591430
1682
regresé a ver a mi médico
10:09
and I was sortordenar of askingpreguntando him,
198
593112
3893
como para preguntarle,
10:12
you know, what am I gonna do?
199
597005
2181
bueno ¿qué hago ahora?
10:15
And I think, kindtipo of, as a surgeoncirujano, he basicallybásicamente said,
200
599186
4608
Creo que como cirujano simplemente me dijo,
10:19
"KidNiño, I savedsalvado your life.
201
603794
1726
"Muchacho, te salvé la vida.
10:21
Like, now you can do whateverlo que sea you want, like,
202
605520

10:24
you gottatengo que get on with that.
203
608170
1666
tienes que seguir adelante.
10:25
It's like I gavedio you a newnuevo carcoche
204
609836
1832
10:27
and you're complainingquejumbroso about not findinghallazgo parkingestacionamiento.
205
611668
2292
y te estás quejando porque
no encuentras donde estacionarlo.
10:29
Like, just, go out, and, you know, do your bestmejor.
206
613960
3601
10:33
But you're aliveviva. That's what it's about."
207
617561
4806
Estás vivo, de eso se trata".
10:38
And then I hearoír, "Bing-bongBing bong," and the subwaysubterraneo doorspuertas
208
622367
5781
Entonces escuché el "ding-dong"
y las puertas del metro
10:44
are closingclausura, and my stop is nextsiguiente, and I look at these kidsniños,
209
628148
6239
se cerraron, mi parada era
la siguiente y miré a esos chicos
10:50
and I go, I think to myselfmí mismo,
210
634387
1869
y me dije a mí mismo
10:52
"I'm going to liftascensor my shirtcamisa up
211

"Voy a levantarme la camisa
10:53
and showespectáculo them," — (LaughterRisa) —

214
641664
3631
(Risas)
11:01
And so I just think, they got theirsu lectureconferencia to go to.
215
645295

11:05
I steppaso off, I'm standingen pie on the platformplataforma,

Me bajé, me paré en la plataforma
