What motivated me to film their behavior
36
93000
3000
01:51
was something that I asked my scientific advisers:
37
96000
3000
01:54
"What motivates the pollinators?"
38
99000
3000
O que motiva os polinizadores?
01:57
Well, their answer was,
39
102000
2000
Bem, a resposta deles foi:
01:59
"It's all about risk and reward."
40
104000
3000
"Tem a ver com risco e recompensa."
02:02
Like a wide-eyed kid, I'd say, "Why is that?"
41
107000
3000
02:05
And they'd say, "Well, because they want to survive."
42
110000
2000
E eles responderam, "Bem, porque eles querem sobreviver."
02:07
I go, "Why?"
43
112000
2000
Eu disse, "Por quê?"
02:09
"Well, in order to reproduce."
44
114000
2000
"Bem, para se reproduzirem."
02:11
"Well, why?"
45
116000
2000
"Bem, por quê?"
02:13
And I thought that they'd probably say, "Well, it's all about sex."
46
118000
3000
02:17
And Chip Taylor, our monarch butterfly expert,
47
122000
3000
E Chip Taylor, nosso especialista em boboletas-monarca,
02:20
he replied, "Nothing lasts forever.
48
125000
4000
respondeu, "Nada dura para sempre.
02:24
Everything in the universe wears out."
49
129000
2000
Tudo no universo se acaba."
02:26
And that blew my mind.
50
131000
2000
E aquilo me impressionou.
02:28
Because I realized
51
133000
2000
Porque eu percebi
02:30
that nature had invented reproduction
52
135000
2000
que a natureza tinha inventado a reprodução
02:32
as a mechanism for life to move forward,
53
137000
3000
02:35
as a life force that passes right through us
54
140000
4000
02:39
and makes us a link in the evolution of life.
55
144000
4000
02:43
Rarely seen by the naked eye,
56
148000
2000
Raramente vista a olho nu,
02:45
this intersection
57
150000

esse cruzamento
02:47
between the animal world and the plant world
58
152000
2000
entre o mundo animal e o mundo vegetal
02:49
is truly a magic moment.
59
154000
2000
é de fato um momento mágico.
02:51
It's the mystical moment
60
156000

É o momento místico
02:53
where life regenerates itself,
