01:35
So, I love that sometimessoms we need to
29
80000
3000
Ek is mal daaroor dat ons somtyds
01:38
go to the oppositeteenoorgestelde sidekant of the worldwêreld
30
83000
2000
01:40
to realizebesef assumptionsaannames we didn't even know we had,
31
85000
2000
01:42
and realizebesef that the oppositeteenoorgestelde of them maymag alsoook be truewaar.
32
87000
3000
01:45
So, for examplebyvoorbeeld, there are doctorsdokters in ChinaChina
33
90000
2000
So byvoorbeeld, is daar dokters in Sjina
01:47
who believe that it's theirhulle jobwerk to keep you healthygesonde.
34
92000
3000
01:50
So, any monthmaand you are healthygesonde you paybetaal them,
35
95000
2000
01:52
and when you're sicksiek you don't have to paybetaal them because they failedmisluk
36
97000
2000
01:54
at theirhulle jobwerk. They get richryk when you're healthygesonde, not sicksiek.
37

In mostdie meeste musicmusiek, we think of the "one"
39
104000
2000
02:01
as the downbeatdownbeat, the beginningbegin of the musicalmusikale phrasefrase: one, two, threedrie, fourvier.
40
106000
4000
02:05
But in WestWeste AfricanAfrikaanse musicmusiek, the "one"
41
110000
2000
Maar in Wes-Afrika musiek word die "een"
02:07
is thought of as the endeinde of the phrasefrase,
42
112000
2000
gesien as die einde van die frase,
02:09
like the periodtydperk at the endeinde of a sentencevonnis.
43
114000
2000
02:11
So, you can hearHoor it not just in the phrasingfrases, but the way they counttel off theirhulle musicmusiek:
44
116000
2000
02:13
two, threedrie, fourvier, one.
45
118000
3000
Twee drie vier, een.
02:16
And this mapkaart is alsoook accurateakkurate.
46
121000
3000
En hierdie kaart is ook akkuraat.
02:19
(LaughterLag)
47
124000

(Gelag)
02:21
There's a saying that whateveralles truewaar thing you can say about IndiaIndië,
48
126000
3000
02:24
the oppositeteenoorgestelde is alsoook truewaar.
49
129000
2000
die teenoorgestelde ook waar is.
02:26
So, let's never forgetvergeet, whetherof at TEDTED, or anywhereoral elseanders,

So laat ons nooit vergeet nie, by TED of elders,

die teenoorgestelde ook waar kan wees.
